HEALTHY CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD

RELATIONSHIPS THRIVE ON CONVERSATIONS that not only deepen the interpersonal connection, but also expand our emotional range that is necessary for emotional maturity. Depriving relationships of meaningful conversations is a disservice first to ourselves because it limits our growth as relational humans, and it hinders what God can do in our own lives only through relationships. As such, emotional immaturity, emotional detachment (even from self) and the inability to empathize and demonstrate compassion are tell-tale signs that we lack deeper conversations in our lives. Generally, we can also tell how relational someone is by the type of questions they bring up in conversations. Do they generally avoid asking about our feelings even when it is obvious that we are going through dark days?
